This pair of medieval leg greaves offer complete leg protection 380mm (15 inches) high. Each piece is pre-fitted with a pin and is ready to be locked in position on your polyen to fit your leg. To fit perfectly to your upper legs you may need to drill a hole or preferably make a vertical slot in the bottom of the knee cop for the pin to slide in.

A greave (from 12th cent ury French greve "shin", of uncertain origin) is a piece of armour that protects the leg.

Historically they were often made in matched pairs ( a pair of greaves), greaves may be constructed of materials ranging from padded cloth to steel plate - as our ones here.

Size: 380mm long
Weight: 1.12kg

Item may have dints and scratches with a rustic patina to add to authenticity.

Could use upper strap but I can do that,
Good stuff MFC.

Perfect fit I have had mine for about 6 months and they fit me perfectly. I added a strap recently to join to my new sabatons but that is the only mod I have done. They fit perfectly with the polyens I had bought about a year ago and couldn't be happier. I should mention that I am a 'grown up' of more than 4 decades and over 6 feet tall. JH

Shin guards not leg greaves This will protect the shins well, Not the rest of the lower leg. They would suit a 14 to 16 year old but not a grown up, they are simply not wide enough, height is good but far to narrow, i do have big calves but these are not safe for me to train in. great shin protection for that 1200 look, nothing later though.

Get a leg up... Light, fitted, style and flare.
They work so well for their intended purpose, and whilst tough, since even historical ones were never meant to be a prime target, they're light and well cool.
I did find that, whilst wearing authotics, that they tended to roll a bit, but that can be fixed by removing the stud (if you have to) and attaching another strap.
