Two handed warhammer

War hammers were developed as a consequence of the ever more prevalent hardened steel surfacing of wrought iron armors of the late medieval battlefields during the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. The surface of the armour was now as hard as the edge of a blade, so a blade tended to ricochet. Swords, or the blade of a battleaxe, were likely only to give a glancing blow, losing much of the impact, especially on the high curvature of the helmet. The war hammer could deliver the full force to the target.

The pick side was highly effective at piercing deep into the armour plates. Failing that, when placed between the plates it was a good lever to tear open any suit of armour. Sometimes these are affectionately known as a "can-opener".

Shaft Length: 1800mm
Hammer and Hook Length: 220mm
Weight: 3kg

Item may have dints and scratches with a rustic patina to add to the battle scared authenticity.

Wall hanger only Although this looks quite durable, our group managed to break one of these hammers when it hit a wooden stand holding a watermellon. I'm not sure what the head is made out of, but it's not solid steel. However, if you're looking for something to go up on your wall this will do the job nicely. just don't try to hit anything with it.

Note from MFC - We have done tests using this hammer by driving the spike through 1.6mm plates of steel using considerable force. We stand by our products and willingly replace defective items.

Not safe for combat As a steel headed hammer these are not safe for combat use no matter how much they are blunted.

A version in aluminium or with a hollow-head would be okay although it would still need modification to be safe.
