Capeline (derived from the French word for hat), lobster tail pot or 'harquebusier's pot' is the name given to this distinct type of post-Renaissance helmet.

Zischargge helmets had fluted skull with etching while the English version, used during the English Civil War (1642-1649) usually had a plain skull and simulated lames. The German word "Zischägge" is a corruption of the Turkish chichak, which refers to a similar helmet used throughout much of the Ottoman world.

Our lobster tail helmet has fluting just like a zischargge in the crown area which is not only decorative but will also make it stronger. It also exclusively uses brass rivets and has a brass crest. See additional pictures for more details.
